Delete your ASC 2026 account

You can delete your account at any time, by yourself, from this website or from the ASC 2026 app. Deletion is immediate and does not go through the organisers.

How to delete your account

  1. Sign in on this website or in the ASC 2026 app (Android or iPhone) with your email address.
  2. Open “My space”.
  3. At the bottom of the page, in the “Delete my account” card, tap “Delete my account…”, then read what is erased and what is kept.
  4. Type DELETE, then tap “Delete permanently”. You are signed out straight away.
Sign in to delete my account

Sign-in uses a code sent to your email address: there is no password to recover.

Account suspended by the moderation team? You can still sign in: “My space” then shows the “Account suspended” page, with the “Delete my account” card.

No longer have access to your email address? Write to support@africanstartupconference.org from another address, giving the name and email address of the account: the organisers check that it is yours, then handle your deletion request.

What is erased

  • Your identity and contact details: name, email, mobile, gender, date of birth, nationality, portrait
  • Your identity documents (NIN or passport) and their scans
  • Your registration, your profile and the attachments of your file
  • Your badge, refused at the CIC gates straight away
  • Your meeting requests and meetings, cancelled (the other participant is told, without your name)
  • Your conversations and their messages, on both sides
  • The contacts you scanned and those who scanned you
  • Your session seats (given back to the waiting list), favourites, votes and questions
  • Your deal room documents, your travel plan and your invitation letter
  • Your requests to the organising team and their attachments
  • Your consents, your sign-in sessions and the devices registered for notifications

What is kept

  • Orders, payments and transfer receipts for a desk that is paid or being paid

    Accounting obligation: the invoice is issued in the company's name, without your email or phone number; an invoice already issued is re-issued under the same number, without a contact line. The desk stays booked for the company and the team's badges stay valid; there is no automatic refund. An unpaid desk booking, on the other hand, is cancelled and the desk released.

  • The platform's security log

    Security and fraud prevention: the log is sealed (hash chain) and cannot be altered afterwards. It records actions, technical identifiers, the IP address and the device and browser type; entries written before 10 October 2026 may contain an email address.

  • Reports made against your account

    Participant safety: a report made against your account, with the encrypted copy of the reported message, remains available to the moderation team. Deleting an account does not erase the evidence of abuse. Reports you made also stay, without any link to you or the comment you wrote.

Timing

Immediate. As soon as you confirm, your account no longer exists: you are signed out on all your devices, your badge is refused at the gates and your profile disappears from the directory.

Encrypted backups of the database and of the files (portrait, copy of the ID document, documents) keep a copy until their automatic rotation erases them after 30 days. Backups are only used to restore the platform after an incident.

Report or block a participant

Without deleting your account, you can block a participant, or report a message or a profile: from a conversation (“Report” under each message you receive, “Block” at the top of the thread) or from their directory profile. The moderation team reviews every report.
